Network Marketing Tips #1 – Be Smart About Money

Creating a budget your business as well as your personal life is key to becoming a successful network marketer. Most network marketers aren’t “business owners”… not initially, which makes knowing your limitations that much more important.

You want to have enough money to keep the business running, but also enough to generate new business. Understanding your investments (think of them as such, investments… not expenditures) is vital towards success with your business from a quality and monetary perspective.

Network Marketing Tips #2 – Be The Hunted Not The Hunter

Now this is a HUGE tip.

Do yourself a favor and adapt the “being the hunted not the hunter” approach!

This means you want to learn a way to get the right people to FIND YOU instead of you proactively go after them.

If you have trouble getting people to come to you… laser-targeted, qualified prospects that are looking for your company’s products, services or joining your team, check out the exact system that our team uses to create unlimited supply of leads by leverage the Internet, regardless what company you are with.

When you use this approach, you will have a continuous flow of prospective recruits or customers visit your website. This may be the most challenging aspect of building a network marketing business and can make or break you (recommendation: suck it up and stick with it)… BUT once you master it, you will have gained a skill that will allow you to make money on demand ANYWHERE in the world as I’ve been able to do for years… seriously.

(Pick up a copy of the book that opened my eyes to this concept of becoming the hunted not the hunter and make money at will anywhere in the world.)

If you’re retail-focused, your website should provide everything a potential customer needs to learn all about your products and make a well-informed buying decision.  If you’re recruiting focused, your website should provide a lot information about YOU and YOUR team, and what benefits you offer your prospects and the requirements to join your team.

Create a blog to keep your audience updated regularly and learn more about you over time. This will remind people about your business and more importantly turning them from “cold” prospects into “warm” prospects and eventually, “smoldering hot” prospects who are ready to knock down your door with credit card in hand, ready to join.

One thing to note though, is that your biggest asset is your time so don’t waste it.

Even the person with the strongest willpower will find it difficult not to become sidetracked when they work on the Internet.

Be sure to set up a schedule for your work, and focus on meeting your deadlines.

I find that using a old-school calendar or Franklin planner and writing things down works the best for me.

Network Marketing Tips #3 – Check Your Attitude

Look at your network marketing venture as a business, not a hobby. To succeed, you need to be a professional and put in the hours and work that you need to see your business thrive.

Try and illustrate to your prospects that you want them to succeed as much as they do, whenever you are explaining your network marketing plan. You need to help them understand the benefits and positive impacts your system will create to their pocketbook, lifestyle, and productivity.

If you want to really succeed in multi-level marketing, you have to be commuted to helping other succeed. Once you reach this point, you will begin to notice an increase in profits.

Focusing on what your customers need is as important as finding new leads in network marketing. Customer satisfaction is directly linked to the success of your business. Your goal should be to listen to your customers the majority of the time (around 80%) and then talk for the rest of the time.

When starting a network marketing business, create a well drawn-out business plan. This plan should include your specific goals and the path you will take to achieve them. Give yourself firm targets for the numbers of customers, sales and new teammates you want to have, and plan ahead about the kind of marketing campaign will be required.

As was stated in the beginning of this article, networking marketing is a matter of education and implementation of proven methods. Once you have determined an appropriate marketing strategy, you can begin to generate massive profits through your business. If you apply these tips, your campaign should be ready in a few weeks or less.

Are you considering Gold and Silver MLM opportunities?

With the economy going the way it has been for the last 3 – 4 years, the US dollar devaluation and credit rating downgrade, buying Gold and Silver has been all the rage during this time…

2) During the search for the best and hopefully the last opportunity (took us 8 months and almost 25 companies) for myself and my business partners, we did consider one Gold & Silver business opportunity.

So why did we end up skipping the Gold and Silver MLM program we looked into?

There were really just a few reasons that caused us to skip that particular business, or that specific niche entirely.

Why Gold and Silver MLM programs never lasted and probably never will?

You know, I have many friends in Gold and Silver MLMs (maybe you’re one of them!), and I really do hope that they interpret this post as my love and concern for them…

Anyway, the single most glaring problem and reason why Gold and Silver MLM programs don’t last is this -

Profit Margin.

How so?

Let me explain… or better yet, watch the video above by Lou to you get a audio/visual presentation of this exact point.

Gold and Silver are commodities that are trade in the market place at a “spot price,” a number that everyone in the WORLD know is the going rate for these precious metals.

So what Gold and Silver MLM companies are subject to an extreme limited profit margin at any given time because those in their right mind will not pay much, if at all, an amount that’s significantly over the very public “spot price.”

The lack of a good profit margin causes Gold & Silver MLM opportunities to be unable to provide long-term residual income, the cornerstone of the network marketing / MLM industry.

Successful companies that market health and wealthness products, skin care and cosmetics products or other physical tangible products usually have much higher profit margins especially when they apply patented formulas or technologies to their products.

“Spot price” is public, but “patented formulas” are private information that can cause buyers to fork over that premium to get the advertised results… especially when the patented formulas actually work!

So what do you do if you’re already in a reputable Gold and Silver MLM company?

Look, in this crazily profitable and fun industry of network marketing relationship is everything.

If you joined a Gold and Silver MLM company because a leader (or leaders) you respect signed up with the company, respect them for what they’ve done to earn your respect… but read this post and watch Lou’s video to know why Gold & Silver MLMs are probably not the answer.

Yes, they may be “hot” at the moment, but remember that relationship and credibility are the two most important factors that cause people to join or leave a specific company.

And the fact is when we (myself included, for sure) promote a company with all our heart and might, only to find the company is not the answer… our credibility wanes at least a little bit…

And in some cases, that credibility is completely destroyed when we decide to make a move to another company.

I personally know some leaders did that OVERNIGHT and completely shattered their credibility that took them years to establish.

Ridiculous it may be, but this is not an isolated case.

Alright, so what does this mean?

That we all dress up in animal costumes and make a fool out of ourselves to get views?

More importantly, how does this relate to adding to the bottom line of your MLM business?

The reality is that there are several crucial MLM video marketing lessons in how to focus the viewer’s attention and turn them into subscribers, raving fans and eventually business partners.

Most people talk about making their videos online and thinking that the leads will just flow in like clockwork if they start rambling in front of the camera…

But the truth is that none of that will happen until you know what types of videos to create, and how to create them…

Rating System for MLM video marketing

After watching and studying many types of videos and used videos to explode the income by as much as 8 times for my clients and myself… I’d like to share a simple rating system you can follow to more engaging, attention-grabbing videos.

Sounds good?

Alright, so here we go from the highest converting types of video to the lowest

1. Videos that are personal in nature, usually from friends, family, confidants or buddies from a hobby club of sorts

2. Entertainment videos (e.g. the funny animal Youtube videos mentioned here)

3. Edu-tainment videos (e.g. The exclusive expert interviews I did with business leaders)

4. Education videos (e.g. Step-by-step how-to videos)

5. Advertising/Marketing videos (e.g. Infomercials)

6. SPAM videos! (e.g. misleading titles that get you to click and advertise an offer like herbal Viagra or something)

Now that you have a basic idea of what keeps peoples eyes on the tube the most, start paying attention to where each of your own videos fits into the above 6 categories… which should give you some clue as to how many “views” your videos have received.

Simple 4-step formula for MLM video marketing

Once you figured out what type of video you want to create, let’s talk about a simple formula on how to create high-converting videos that turn viewers into subscribers, fans and eventually buyers or take whatever action you’d like them to take next.

You can adapt a very simple 4-step process to sketch out your video creation formula.

It is called A-I-D-A.

• A – Attention (Awareness): attract the attention of the customer.
• I – Interest: raise customer interest by focusing on and demonstrating advantages and benefits (instead of focusing on features, as in traditional advertising).
• D – Desire: convince customers that they want and desire the product or service and that it will satisfy their needs.
• A – Action: lead customers towards taking action and/or purchasing.

This is a formula I learned years ago from a top marketer originally to apply into my copywriting.

However, I realized that this formula can be used in pretty much any of my marketing efforts, such as video marketing.

It worked out perfectly.

Here is just one of many examples, an EDUCATIONAL video (#4 from the rating system), that I created by following the A-I-D-A formula.

I then posted this video at a social networking site for home business professionals called Better Networker, and it got featured in Better Networker’s newsletter and generated about 70 leads in just 2 days just from this source along.

Next time I’ll create a follow-up video to break down how A-I-D-A was applied to it for you.

Anyhow, keep in mind that any strategy, either this MLM video marketing formula, some ninja SEO trick or whatever, has no value to you until you take action…

So take what we talked about in this post and apply them into your business.

Already powered by Bing (formerly MSN, and then Live… operated by Microsoft) for its web search results, Facebook seems to be enamored of Microsoft as it powers up its video calling feature with the help of Skype, which was recently acquired by Microsoft.

While video calling is hardly anything new, the integration between a popular, gigantic social networking platform like Facebook and the ability to instantly start a video chat with one (soon to be group, I predict) of the 700-million some members is nothing less than breathtaking.

Facebook video calling prediction – The Good

Obviously an immediate benefit of the video calling feature saves us the time from having to get our friends’ Skype ID, send them an invite and wait for them to get on Skype.

We can now do it in one swoop… Woohooo!

This convenience feature alone is enough to make me smile

Those that engage in ethical business activities can also now use Facebook video calling to connect with prospects, clients and teammates more effectively and quickly.

Facebook has a bad habit of changing its policies a tad bit too frequently, causing its members to cringe a tad bit too frequently as well.

With Facebook video calling will there be a day when advertisers can send you video messages directly if you don’t adjust your privacy settings?

Or maybe put your face in a video commercial without you knowing it because you “forgot” to uncheck that box in your account settings somewhere?

Hmm… I wonder.

Backlinks for SEO are (almost) like votes in an election except not all links are created equal… Here’s a quick summary of different types of links and how to use them effectively.

Building backlinks for SEO used to be very very simple.

1) You take the URL of a web page
2) Put it on another webpage on another website
3) Create an active hyperlink directly to the page you want rank for

That’s it!

But over the years, SEO has grown in its popularity as a way to drive traffic on a ongoing basis, causing the algorithm to rank high in search results to change rapidly, to become increasingly complex and to become much harder to predict.

While backlinks for SEO still means linking from web pages on others’ sites to yours, the manner with which we direct these links is critical to our success in ranking high in SERP.

And of course, this applies to any niche you’re targeting whether it’s network marketing or something else because SEO is SEO… the search algorithms don’t change.

I’m going to attempt to break down the different types of backlinks for SEO and suggest a few ways to use them to maximize results.

Before I do that, I must state the 3 Golden Rules of backlinks for SEO

1. Variety
2. Quality
3. Volume

In one swoop, this means to rank well in search engines you need a constant volume of a variety of backlinks of various quality (you want more higher quality backlinks for sure) over a period of time until the desired ranking is reached and stabilized.

Now that the general goal is defined… let’s talk about what type of backlinks there are for SEO.

Here are 4 “grades” of backlinks for SEO to consider:

1. “Crappy/Sh*tty” backlinks (e.g. links from PR 0 sites of any sort… blog comments… social bookmarks)

2. “So-so/Meh” backlinks (e.g. PR1+ links from forum profiles, etc.)

3. “Good/Aight” backlinks (e.g. PR1+ links from article directories)

4. “Great/Authority” backlinks (e.g. PR3+ .EDU/.GOV links, Hubpages links)

I can go on and on about other links like social bookmarking and so forth…

But let’s just focus on the more “proven” ones

Keep in mind that SEO is not an exact science.

The video above (which I suggest you watch if you haven’t already) about how to properly use the different link types and a live example of one of my many SEO campaigns (never shared this before until now) and how the different types of links work the real world.
